Tynker Junior — Now Available for Your iPhone!
Tynker Junior, the new coding app for younger children, is now available on both iPhone and iPad! Download this FREE app on your phone from the App Store to encourage the younger learners in your family to start their coding journey. Specifically designed for pre-readers who are still learning how to read, Tynker Junior features word-free code blocks, pictures, voiceovers and tap-tap-tap interactions–no drag-and-drop motions required! Now with phone support, access to coding challenges is available anytime, anywhere!
The app works in landscape mode on iPhone 6/6 Plus and later. With Tynker Junior installed on your phone, you’ll have access to smarter screen time that you can enjoy with your child, whether you are on the couch or waiting in line.
With Tynker Junior, kids learn the basics of block coding as they:
- Build their own aquariums
- Assemble custom robots and program events
- Collect treasure in a maze with sequencing
- Help wild animals reach home with loops and counters
- Debug and solve critical thinking puzzles
Tynker Junior is only available in the “Kids” section in the App Store. For only $.99 USD/month or $9.99 USD/year, your young child can get started on the fast track to understanding key programming concepts! More courses and puzzles will be added periodically.
When your child is ready for more, download the Tynker app as well and sign up with a free account on Tynker.com to access hundreds of fun coding challenges such as Crystal Clash, Barbie Pet Vet, Minecraft modding, and more. Once they’ve mastered block coding, they’ll be ready to tackle real-world computer languages like JavaScript, Python, CSS, and HTML. Kids get introduced to these languages through fun coding courses such as Sky Pirates (JavaScript), Jungle Run (Python), and more! They can also edit their own web pages in our new Code Editor.
Whatever your child’s coding level, Tynker’s range of learn-to-code solutions for kids provides everything you need to ensure they have the best introduction to coding!
