Ice Hockey Player Lennu Makes Amazing Games in Tynker!
Twelve-year-old Lennu is in 5th grade. He lives in Turku, Finland and loves to play ice hockey! We’re really inspired by his creative projects, and wanted to find out more about why he loves to code.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be an ice-hockey player.
How did you get introduced to coding? My teacher introduced me to Tynker.
Do your friends use Tynker? Yes, many of them use Tynker.
Do you ever code on Tynker with your friends? No, I prefer to Tynker alone.
Do you look at the Tynker community projects? Yes, every now and then.
What is your favorite project that someone else has built? It’s called 2D Plane.
What’s your favorite feature in Tynker? Physics.
What is your favorite thing you’ve made? It’s a game called “Game Machine.”
What are you planning to make next? I want to make a 3D simulator.
Why do you like to code? I like to plan wholeness and then design my plan from beginning to end.
Do you think other kids should try coding? Yes, other kids should try coding because it’s fun and educational.
What advice would you give for kids starting out with Tynker? Be patient.
What’s a fun fact about you? I like to create games with Legos as well. The latest games I’ve made are a candy machine and a pinball machine.
Lennu’s mom Katariina thinks it’s great that Lennu is learning coding. In fact, she told us, “Sometimes we think that he is using too much time for coding!” In her opinion, “it’s important to know coding since it gives you more future prospects. Tynker seems to be good and safe way to learn coding.”
