This is so cool – these kids taught a Tynker lesson by putting themselves in Tynker. Check it out!
If you have ever wondered what it was like to be in a video game you can ask the 2nd and 3rd graders @gems_daa They were teaching a coding lesson in @gotynker and what better way to do it, than entering the game! @daa_innovate @DaaHopkins2 @DAAElementary @AppleEDU pic.twitter.com/uCTG80xyU3

Love this teacher’s recounting of seeing her student’s computational thinking in action.
Using @gotynker with this student. She independently started breaking apart the code, testing her code, debugging her code and then building on to her code. A computational thinker! @SirWilliamOsle1 #WinnipegSD pic.twitter.com/nUdpNcLNM0

On the Blog
This week’s Featured Makers were Noah and Gabe. Noah is learning to code to prepare for his future career as an inventor, and Gabe likes to incorporate his pet toads into his coding games. When asked if other kids should learn to code, Gabe replied, “Heck yeah!”
We also posted The Power of Play: How Kids Benefit from Game-Based Learning. It was an interesting article to work on – did you know that GBL dates back to the 1970s with Oregon Trail?
Keep contributing to the Tynker community! Parents and teachers can connect with us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and the Tynker Community Forum. Kids can start learning to code and creating for free with the Tynker app for iPads or by playing our Hour of Code activities!
