Community Highlights: March 4th-March 8th

It’s been another exciting week in the Tynker community! Kids are making all kinds of creative projects, and teachers and students are coming together to use coding to strengthen critical thinking skills and demonstrate content knowledge. Your favorite multiplayer battle game, Crystal Clash, has new features like Duo Mode, Questbook, Friends and Character Customization; Tynker Blue Ribbon Educator Lisa Sato uses coding for Project-Based Learning; and our Featured Maker, Ximena, gets inspiration from holidays for her projects! We also celebrated International Women’s Day last week with a special tribute blog to seven inspiring Women in STEM. Check out this week’s Community Highlights below!

Featured Maker Ximena likes the “broadcast” block!  “I like broadcast because if you want something to show up at a certain moment, instead of putting ‘wait one second, then show,’ you can just use broadcast!”

Happy International Women’s Day on March 8th! We celebrated by honoring seven inspiring women in STEM with a special blog post! Women helped put humankind on the moon, develop programming languages, found startups, and more–what will the girls and women in your life achieve?

It’s not Fortnite, it’s Crystal Clash! Play epic 2v2 battle games and win Tynker Gold with new features like Duo Mode, Friends, Questbook, and Character Customization!

Lisa Sato, Blue Ribbon Tynker Educator, has students create coding games based on Greek Myths and then showcase them in a penny arcade! Learn more about this inspiring teacher.

Keep contributing to the Tynker community! Parents and teachers can connect with us on TwitterFacebookInstagram, and the Tynker Community Forum. Kids can also start learning to code and creating for free with the Tynker app for iPads
