Community Highlights: January 30 – February 5
Here are a few highlights from the Tynker community this past week:
Featured Makers
This week, we featured seven amazing kids on the Tynker blog: Jodie, Merlin, Maverick, Danielle, Zane, Bianca, and Isabel. You can click on any one of them to learn more about some of the kids who use Tynker as a creative platform.
Projects of the Week
JellyBlock – Third Level Test!: This physics-based game actually isn’t using Tynker’s built-in physics engine! It’s just using math to simulate gravity and the player’s movement.
The Wall 4.0: In this impressive game, you need to guess where a marble will fall depending on where you drop it on top of a series of nobs.
Cat Studio: Design your own cat, complete with eyewear, hat, and dialogue!
Tweets of the Week
This week, the Tynker office received letters from three 3rd graders in Kansas who were doing a report on coding and video games. They interviewed Tynker game developers Amanda, Matt, and Chris over Skype in front of their entire class, asking questions like, “How do you learn to code? Does it get easier the more you practice?” and “What can you do with coding?” Their teacher even tweeted a picture of the interview!
Yesterday we got to Skype w/ our 1st Genius Hour experts of the year, from @gotynker ! The kids had a blast and learned a lot about coding! pic.twitter.com/auTQmtiY0Q
