Community Highlights: October 17 – 23
With kids around the US back in school, the Tynker Community really seems to be ramping up with a lot of great new projects.
Projects of the Week
3D Simulator | V: This project uses a really cool technique that involves stamping to create the appearance of a rotating 3D shape.
pac man spelling: You better know your vocabulary to win this game of Pac Man! This version of Pac Man only allows you to move if you correctly define a vocabulary word.
My Project 40: In this game, you need to help a panda get to all the honey pots. Click on the panda to move him so he doesn’t miss any honey pots. This project was created by Kareyn, a 12-year-old from Texas who has made several featured projects and has been featured on the Tynker blog!
Tynker in the News
NY1, a major cable syndicate, included Tynker’s “Code This Drone” kit with Parrot as one of the three toys they featured in a segment on toys that teach programming. The segment, featuring an interview with Tynker CTO Srini Mandyam, has been syndicated by many other news programs across the country.
Jenny Anderson, a STEM specialist in Vista, California, published a great piece on her experiences using Tynker to teach coding.
Ecole Sir Adam Beck JS, a K-5 school in Canada, wrote a blog post about their experiences using Tynker and their decision to expand the program to teach coding to all students.

This week, I want to put a special spotlight on programming with Parrot drones because I’ve seen so many teachers posting about how much their students enjoy using the Tynker app to program drones.
