Coding for Kids
CodeLab on Tynker LIVE is a fully produced live DIY maker show for students and teachers. This CSEdWeek/Hour of Code, we’re collaborating with Department of Educations in states all over the United States doing a LIVE lesson for this year’s Hour of Code Activity: Coding Cup from Byju’s and Tynker and our NASA-partner project: Design a Mission Patch. During CSEdWeek (Dec. 5th – 9th), for 45 mins (about a class period) students can experience:
- The Coding Cup Activity tips and tricks (https://tynker.com/codingcup) or NASA design project
- Special Tynker-branded Kahoot quizzes
- Coding Cup Strategies: How to code your Striker, Defender, and Goalie
- The importance of the Worldwide and classroom leaderboards (and prizes!)
- LIVE Q and A with Tynker specialists
- Having a Blast with Tynker!

This year, we’re offering two featured CodeLabs featuring our NASA project and Coding Cup from Byju’s. CodeLab on Tynker Live takes place on YouTube Live (make sure YouTube is unblocked), and we’ll be broadcasting every day. We use a moderated chat to gather questions from our student audience, and students help guide us as we create. Let’s create together, with CodeLab!
