According to Max, Everyone Should Code!

Max Borton is in 5th grade and from Sylvania, Ohio. He’s ten years old and loves lacrosse, drawing, and running! He’s coded some really creative projects, so we chatted with him to learn what he thinks about coding.

What do you want to be when you grow up? I haven’t thought of that yet.

Do you look at the Tynker community projects? I like that the community projects were made by other people, but I don’t have a favorite one because I don’t look at them that often.

What’s your favorite feature in Tynker? I like that you can add different costumes to animate things.

Are you currently working on anything? I’ve made smaller projects but nothing currently.

What’s something you want to make but don’t know how yet? Fighting games – I don’t know how to make them.

Why do you like to code? Because it’s fun to make your own things. I think other kids should try coding because it’s fun to make your own things.

Do you think other kids should try coding? Yes, because it’s fun to make your own things.

What advice would you give for kids starting out with Tynker? Make stuff you want and be creative.

Max’s mom Katie loves that he’s learning to code! She told us, I think it’s very good for him! I think he’s very creative and Tynker helps him express that creativity.”
