Tynkering with Minecraft and Drones at Maker Faire 2016

Thanks to everyone who visited our booth at the Maker Faire in San Mateo this weekend! It was great to see so many kids excited about learning to code. Younger kids loved learning computational thinking and problem solving with our iPad puzzles. Meanwhile, older kids couldn’t get enough of Minecraft modding and programming drones and robots. We were also thrilled to learn that we received a Maker Faire Editor’s Choice award for our programming and Minecraft courses.

Walking around Maker Faire was incredibly inspiring for us. It’s unbelievable to see what’s possible with technology. It reminded us why it’s so important that today’s kids learn to code. It’s not just about the job opportunities. It’s fundamentally about allowing them to express their creativity and solve the world’s problems through coding.

If your kids haven’t started yet, summer is a great time to learn to code. Tynker courses will keep them intellectually and creatively engaged, while teaching them an important skill and allowing them to make projects and games they really care about. There’s still time to take advantage of our special Maker Faire offer to get a Parrot Rolling Spider drone for $49.99 with free shipping in the US when you purchase any Tynker subscription.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s Maker Faire and we hope to see you and your kids there. Maybe they’ll be the ones presenting next year!
