Meet our newest Featured Maker, 6th grader Dohun from South Korea. His favorite subject in school is math. Outside of class, he likes to watch YouTube videos and code on Tynker. Dohun spoke with us about his experience coding with Tynker:
How did you get introduced to Tynker?
By my class in the 4th grade.
How did you learn how to use Tynker?
I did some tutorials.
Have your coding skills improved since you started using Tynker?
Improved a lot! I understand variables a lot better!
How did you feel when you found out your project had been featured?
I smiled so much!
What’s your favorite project you’ve made so far?
Treat Clicker because when you click the treat gets bigger!
Where did you get the idea for this project?
I wanted to celebrate Halloween!
How do you get inspiration for your projects?
I mostly get ideas from YouTube videos!
Why do you like to code?
It’s fun and allows me to express my creativity!
What’s your favorite way to use code?
Touch blocks!
What do you do with a project when you’re done with it?
I just publish!
What are you planning to make next?
I just want to make a new clicker.
What’s the best thing about Tynker?
I love how you can get likes and views and other kids can play your games!
Do you think other kids should try coding?
Yes because it can help kids’ careers.
What advice would you give to kids starting out with Tynker?
Publish your projects in a good way!
