Community Highlights: August 6 – August 12
Happy Monday! Last week, the Tynker community was hard at work submitting projects to the last week of the Summer Code-A-Thon. Check out some of the amazing projects we saw, and don’t miss our Twitter or blog update either!
Projects of the Week
Famether Boss: Stage 3 by princessellagirly
This user created a fight between a dragon and a character on a magic carpet.
This unique boss fight has a boss that shifts colors and fires lines and shapes at the player. You only get to attack once every several seconds, so the difficulty is very high.
Defeat the boss and his minions by clicking to fire lasers. Make sure you don’t stay in the center of the screen.
Tynker by Boring Cut
This user created a project based on the Tynker IDE. Each code block has added text to teach you about what it does.
UPDATE colour grid 2 by Alecia
This user created a shifting color grid that regenerates every time you click the background.
Play as a superhero flying through the sky. Don’t get hit by the airplanes!
Tweets of the Week

I’m so proud of Will’s dedication to solving problems and sharing his passion with the world. It’s great to see hard work recognized and personal goals realized! @Brittonbobcats

On the Blog
Sofie and Zunair were our Featured Makers this week! Sofie is a future vet who loves gaming and creating games! Zunair makes hilarious food-centric projects; he sweetly told us, “I’m always happy with what I have!”
We also posted this article about a small school district in East Texas that has implemented Tynker. Kyle Ivey, Instructional Technology Director of the district and author of the blog post, said, “Tynker allows us to provide all students a curriculum to develop and/or hone the skills needed to be successful in 21st century learning“
Keep contributing to the Tynker community! Parents and teachers can connect with us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and the Tynker Community Forum. Kids can start learning to code and creating for free with the Tynker app for iPads or with our FREE Summer Code-A-Thon!
