Tynker at FETC: Choose the Best Coding Curriculum
This week marks the one of the country’s most significant education gatherings: The Future of Education Technology Conference in Orlando, Florida. Tynker and the Tynker Blue Ribbon Educators will be there to help tell their stories about the importance of coding in their schools, as well as how Tynker stands apart from the rest.
We’ll be demoing some of the amazing things that Tynker can do, including:
- Tynker for Schools, our vast, integrated coding curriculum for K-8
- Tynker for Schools on iPad: See what Tynker for Schools looks like in an iPad 1:1 environment
- Code That Drone! Program a drone with Tynker
- LEGO WeDo connectivity and course
- Parrot mini drones and course

Register Now!Skies the Limit: Using Drones to Get Kids Programming
Presenter: David J. Lockett, @davidjlockett
Tynker provides a good opportunity to developing scientific and mathematical understanding. Students become incredibly excited by drones and a good way to put their coding into a practical context is to learn how to code a drone. Learn how to code drones with visual blocks. Make a custom controller that uses input from a tablet’s accelerometer to steer a drone, navigate a virtual drone through virtual obstacles, and more!
Time: Wednesday, Jan 23rd: 1pm, Booth #513

Tynker’s full-fledged curriculum is now on iPad! With integration of Swift Programming language from Apple, Tynker’siPad coding curriculum makes it easy for educators to introduce students to coding on a tablet. To better prepare students to use Swift Playgrounds from Apple, all Tynker puzzles on the iPad have Swift Programming baked in. Now students as young as kindergarten are introduced to Swift! This is an important piece of building schema in computational thinking, and it transitions students into text coding with ease. has
